Learn how to create a chocolate effect in Corel Painter

1. Choosing An Image as Original One
Lets get start by choosing an image we will be applying this effect to. I perfered the image below . Open up this image from the main menu. In the Layer palette you have a layer which calls  'Canvas' and being locked by default.

2. Duplicating twice
We are going to copy this original image and paste it on a new layer in the Layer palette, start by pressing Ctrl-A to select the entire cavas then press Ctrl-C to copy that in a new layer which automatically be created when we release Ctrl-V. Doing the process above again, so you should get 3 layers in the Layer palette.

3.Applying Highpass Effects
Make sure that you are now stay in the layer2 ,open the Highpass dialog box by chooseing Effects > Esoterica > Highpass from the main menu, set Aperture to Gaussian and Amount to 1.83. Once this is done, set the blend mode of layer2 to Colorize.Click back to the layer1 , open the Highpass dialog box by chooseing Effects > Esoterica > Highpass from the main menu, set Aperture to Circular and Amount to 1.83.This time don't need make settings of the blend mode of layer1.

4.Creating a Gradient Layer

Create a new layer by clicking on the small button as the shot below.Grab your Bucket Tool with Gradient Filling mode ,and open Gradients palette by choosing Window > Library Palettes > Show Gradients (Ctrl+8), I'd like making a chocolate effect, so I'm going to use RGB(175,128,82) as my foreground color and RGB(165,83,35) as my backgroud color. Create a gradient near the middle left of document. Set the blending mode to Shadow Map and create an effect like the one shown below on layer 3. By choosing File > Save As to create a .jpg File which we will import to Illustrator for mapping to 3D chocolate.

5. Using Illustrator's 3D tools

You may know some skills of Mapping Artwork to  3D objects in Illustrator, if not, you need read  some related tutorials before getting start mapping.
