Learn how to easily draw stars and nebula effect in Illustrator
Start with blank document,make its size whatever you like, i used 133mm width X 112mm heigh , CMYK color mode. Create a rectangular path using rectangular tool (M) and fill it with soild color (C:100 M:100 Y:13 K:68 ) , lock this backgroud by holding down shortcut key (Ctrl/Command + 2)

Under the top menu select View > Zoom in , create a square path fill it with white color, then go to Filter > Distort > Pucker & Bloat , set to -100% , you will get this result as below. Under the top menu select View > Zoom in , create a square path fill it with white color

then go to Filter > Distort > Pucker & Bloat , set to -100% , you will get this result as below.

Now make sure the unfinished star is to be selected , a popup window opens by double clicking the Rotate Tool (R)in toolbox, set to 45 degree.

Double click the Scale Tool (S) and make sure the unfinished star is again to be selected

Set scale to 20% and copy to get new smaller one. You might get this result.

Go to select the big star and set to 30% on the transparency palette. To be selected , hold down Ctrl/Command + Alt/Option + B . Now we get the finished star like below.

Double click the Blend Tool (W) and then set spacing to 12 specified steps , make sure both of stars are to be selected , hold down Ctrl/Command + Alt/Option + B . Now we get the finished star like below.

Using Scale Tool (S) make the star become fairly small, then drag this small and drop into Symbol Palette.

Using Symbol Sparyer Tool (Shift + S ) create more stars in the sky, (Tips: [ ] use for changing symbol size

Opens Symbolism Tools Options by double clicking the Symbol Sparyer or if you click and hold the smallblack triangle, a submenu will pop up with "Symbol shifter, Scruncher, Sizer ,Spinner , Stainer ,etc ". They do exactly what their name says Tool in toolbox.

Using Symbol Spinner Tool change directions of stars.

Using Symbol Screener Tool click on stars you want to get dusky effect.

Using Symbol Sizer Tool click on stars you want to get bigger or smaller(Holding ALT Key) size.

Again using the same method of creating blending star and Twirl , Wrinkle Tool make something that look like the planetary nebula.
