When you draw with traditional media, the amount of pressure you use with a tool determines how dense and how wide your strokes are. The Brush Tracking preference lets you adjust Corel Painter to match your stroke strength. This is particularly useful for artists with a light touch using your digital pen on the tablet. under the top menu choose Edit menu > Preferences > Brush Tracking.
You just find out the RGB color mode in the Corel Pianter, it will change to RGB color mode automatically while open CMYK TIFF or Grayscale TIFF .JPEG.GIF.EPS files, Corel Painter has a key function is can open Photoshop .PSD files or Illustrator .AI files still keeping layers, layer mask, channels but layer styles. so your artwork can be edited in Photoshop and painterX both that can be saved as .PSD file. which format can be opened only just in Corel Painter ? the answer is .RIFF file.
In the toolbox it is 24 kinds of tool to act according to its function as well as their uses are classified by application methods compared purely with grasps each independent tool ,it is be similar the uses of tools for us to combine in together and be able to cause users conveniently to grasp function characteristic of tools.
Before you want to draw a Landscape piece, Under the top menu click Canvas > Perspective Grid> Show Grid ,using Perspective Grid Adjuster tool move the Horizontal or vertical direction grid .
Now lets familiar with Brush Property Bar (Window > Show Property Bar) from left to right on panel.

Grain--The value more lower, paper sense of reality is the more prominent
Resat--The value more higher,stroke is the more clearer, color is the more deeper
Bleed--The value more higher, the pigment is more thickly , paint brush effect is the more paler.
Jitter--The value more higher, The paint brush contains pigment grains the more bigger and rough

Çorel Painter's Painter Bucket is similar with Photoshop's , but there are three different places , one Fill Image that fills the color in the picture two Fill Cell that fill color in cartoon with stoke lines three Current Color that fill with main color like foregroud color of Photoshop Gradient--fill with gradient color in Gradient Selector Library Clone Source--fill with pattern in Pattern Selector Library Weaves--fill with weave in Weaves Selector Libaray
Corel Painter's Selection tools are similar with Photoshop's ,there are two different places, one while you make a selection click left button to open pop menu ,you will find nine commands.we are focus on the Convert to Shape command that can tranfer a selection to shape on new layer automatically . other commands are the same as photoshop's.
To control Stroke and fill by clicking Shapes > Set Shape Attributes after you transfer a selection to shape on new layer .
Lets use the Layer adjuster tool to move and copy or resize images that put on new layer automatically while you make a selection with selection tool, but the selection of original images were filling with white .If you want to keep original images, you should hold Alt key.
When you want to adjust the made selection, you should use Selection Adjuster tool to resize it .
Corel Painter's Text tool is mostly familiar with Photoshop's,but there are still much different places ,Click Window > Show Text ,u can look for many settings for text,for instance Internal shadow, External shadow , Show Text Blur ,Blur Direction.. Composite Method, Curve Style .,etc.
